Frequently Asked Questions in Savannah
Do you offer boarding and grooming services?
While we do not offer boarding or routine grooming services, we may provide sedated, medically necessary grooming for specific cases, particularly for pets that do not tolerate traditional grooming. Additionally, we are happy to provide a list of trusted local facilities that offer boarding, daycare, and a variety of grooming services.
Do you offer same-day appointments?
Yes, we offer same-day appointments for sick patients whenever possible, exclusively for our established clients. Even when our routine schedule is fully booked, our doctors and staff make every effort to accommodate urgent medical concerns. In the event of an emergency, we ask that you call ahead so we can do our best to prepare to triage and assess your pet promptly. If we ever feel that your pet requires more extensive care, we may refer you to a trusted emergency facility to ensure the highest level of treatment.
Do you offer prescription diets for medical needs?
Yes, we offer prescription diets tailored to the specific medical needs of each individual patient, as prescribed by our veterinarians. We carry a wide selection of Hill’s Prescription Diets in-clinic, and additional options – including Royal Canin and Purina Veterinary Diets – are available through our online store. We are also happy to approve prescriptions through other authorized retailers upon request.
Do you offer payment plans?
While we do not offer in-house payment plans, we do accept third-party financing options with CareCredit, which allows clients to manage veterinary expenses through flexible payment arrangements. Please contact our team for more information or assistance with the application process.
Do you offer end-of-life (euthanasia) services in your home?
While we do not offer in-home euthanasia services, we are honored to provide this service in-clinic with your trusted veterinary team. For those who prefer the comfort of a home setting during this difficult time, we can also provide a list of reputable local providers who offer in-home euthanasia services.
Do you offer vaccinations specifically tailored to feline patients?
We offer feline-specific vaccines that are carefully formulated without harmful adjuvants, significantly reducing the risk of vaccine reactions and injection-site sarcomas – conditions that are not typically a concern with canine and human vaccines. While many clinics may not offer these vaccines due to cost, we are committed to providing the safest and most effective care for our feline patients.
How often does my pet need an examination by the veterinarian?
To maintain a doctor-patient relationship and to prescribe preventive treatments (including flea, tick, and heartworm prevention), we must examine your pet at least once annually by law. For very young, senior, or medically compromised pets, more frequent evaluations may be necessary to ensure optimal and complete care. If your pet is experiencing any health concerns, we recommend contacting us to schedule an examination with one of our veterinarians as soon as possible.
Do you offer overnight care for hospitalized patients?
We do not offer overnight care for hospitalized or post-surgical patients. Pets undergoing routine surgical procedures will be discharged the same day, once they are fully recovered and stable. For cases requiring overnight monitoring or extended hospitalization, we refer patients to the Savannah Veterinary Emergency Clinic or New River Veterinary Specialists to ensure continuous care and direct supervision. Our facility is not staffed overnight, and we believe that it is in the best interest of your pet to be in a fully monitored environment after hours should complications arise. This policy reflects our commitment to providing the highest standard of care and safety for every patient.
Do you offer in-house diagnostic services to help expedite evaluation and treatment?
Yes, we offer a wide range of in-house diagnostic services, including microscopic analysis, bloodwork, urinalysis, digital radiography, digital cytology, and ultrasonography to support timely evaluation and treatment. These capabilities allow us to make prompt and informed medical decisions for your pet’s care when it matters most.
